Humboldt county, California

We’re about 40 miles north of Eureka, California in a town named Orick. This is an amazing area. We just arrived here a few hours ago from Half Moon Bay, California. We’ve already seen a large herd of Roosevelt elk and we’re in among young coastal redwoods. Oh, and the beach/coast is right there!

Pardon for not writing much, we’ve just been grinding miles mostly since we left Orlando. We’ve done mostly overnight stays, and that’s no way to see the country, or drive an rv across the country! But it’s been the plan, and is finally paying off. We will meet up with our friends in a couple days, and then everything slows way down. We transition from driving mostly every day, to driving every 3-5 days! We finally get to start exploring better!

This new part of the trip starts tomorrow here with spending the day exploring Redwoods state and national parks. We have tonight and tomorrow night here in Orick, then we meet up in Oregon with Jason and Jen Tart to continue our trip to Alaska!

More soon.
